GRADING
  • Your grade will be determined using the following percentages:
Tests/quizzes: 45%
Labs: 20%
Projects: 20%
CW/HW: 15%
  • Progress reports will be issued at midterm. Progress Reports must be turned in signed by a parent the day following their issue.
  • Scholastic integrity: Do not allow anyone to copy your work in this class. I will consider this cheating and it will result in a zero grade.

ABSENCE
  • Excused absence: Students will have three (3) days to make up their work.
    • If present the day work is assigned but absent the day work is due; the work MUST be turned in the first day you return to school to receive full credit.
    • Unexcused absence: Students will NOT be allowed to make up work and a zero will be recorded.
    • Tests: Tests are announced and posted well in advance. If you are absent the day before a test, you are expected to take the test with the rest of the class.
    • All late work will only receive partial credit.

CREDIT RECOVERY
  • You will be allowed to retake most exams (nine weeks tests excluded) after school during the allotted time (usually the week after exams are returned). I will not give you a grade lower than the original, so there is no excuse for wasting this opportunity…you can only improve your grade.

TEXTBOOK
  • Environment: The Science Behind the Stories
